To me, the most important technological invention to benefit society was the evolution of the telephone. This was the quickest form to contact one another. Since the call was fast, it was very reliable. Reliability was key to being able to trust this new invention. Everyone who had a telephone, accessed the same thing. People had ebtter communication skills. Better communication skills was vital so you could learn as much as possible. This invention helps with our socity today and there are many new additions.
There were not many quick ways to get in contact with someone in the 1800’s. Luckily the development of this new device would change that. Of course there were forms of communication, but nothing like this. Telegrams and mail were ways to stay in contact with friends and family then. Who knows if these were reliable? Until you tried it, you didn’t know the answer to that. Was anyone willing to take that risk? Yes, but now with the telephone, you didn’t need to risk anything.
In order to develop communication skills, one needs to be able to be comfortable talking to different people. This invention did just that. Improving skills requires time and willingness to learn. The more someone talks on the telephone, the more comfortable it is. This invention may have helped people to get better jobs. As of now, more skills; including communication helps a lot with obtaining a career. Without communication we may have never even been as far as we are now with technology. Still today, people do not have the best communcation skills.
Even though we now have the internet where everyone can access the same thing, the telephone is capable of that as well. In the 1800’s people did not have caller id, call waiting, and answering machines, but now we do. Every phone can get the job done. Now there are just additions that many people do not use or are useless. These were not and still are not needed in today’s society. The first telephone was nothing people have today. I think that if we still had telephones like the first, our society would be so different. It would make things a lot harder on people’s lives.
To me, the most important technological invention to benefit society was the development of the telephone. One good characteristic about the telephone is reliability. It is a very quick and easy form of communication. Without this onvention, our world would be so different. I believe it is a very easy-to-wrok invention. There are too many additions to the telephones we have now in the 21st century. Too many people make this simple development complicated and it should not be that hard. This is why I think that the telephone is the one invention that benefits in our world today.
